Macy’s Fit Matters – Oops Bra Moment – GIVEAWAY

When I was about 14, I (unlike all the other girls) DID NOT have boobs. I just didn’t grow them… I received my gift from mother nature 2 years prior, but didn’t get the fun and beautiful part of it. So since all the other girls were so nicely endowed and my little 80 lb body didn’t find it necessary to allow me to “fit in”, I decided to take matters into my own hands…(do you see where this is going…lol) Well, before a VERY important dance at school (weren’t they all important?!), I decided to borrow a friend’s bra and “give” myself this much “required” gift. After stuffing (hahahaha, I can’t even type that with a straight face!) this bra with tissues, I dressed in my prettiest and most fashionable dress and my friend (who was in on the secret) and I headed out to the dance. I thought I was so HOT! Well, long story short, by the end of the night, my “breasts” had decided to settle at much different paces, so one was smaller than the other. In my naive little teenage mind, I though, “okay, I’ll just take it out”. Well, this was so much worse. My chest not only looked flat again, it was now LUMPY and flat. So, needless to say, I was too embarrassed go back and finish the dance. While my friend enjoyed herself, I waited in the bathroom until it was over so I could make a bee-line to the car.

I learned my lesson at 14, that a perfectly-fitting bra is the key to confidence. Macy’s knows this and has begun a new campaign for their customers called “Fit Matters.”

“A perfect fit, a fabulous look. Discover how a perfect fit on the inside is the first step to looking and feeling amazing on the outside. A beautiful foundation is all that you need to create a flawless and flattering silhouette.”Macys.com

This new site has a ton of new features to help you find the perfect bra for you.

I had the opportunity to get the full online experience of Fit Matters from Macys.com. First I used the bra calculator to get the correct size that I needed. Thank goodness for this, because after I had children, my breasts decided it was time to make an appearance, so now I have been buying them too small…go figure…lol! Once I knew what size to choose, I used the bra finder to pick the right style bra I needed. Since I am a SAHM, but still like to wear fashionable tops, I chose to try a new style bra that I found very interesting, the Fashion Forms “U Push” Bra. Not only did it fit perfectly, it was comfortable and did exactly what it was supposed to do, support while being discreet.

Ok- here goes. The most recent one was when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was at lunch with a bunch of my husbands friends and although I had outgrown my bra- I insisted on still wearing it, and not getting maternity bras. So talking away- and the wire literally pops out of the bra, stabbing me in the underarm. There was no graceful way to cover that! Needless to say- I bought maternity bras that night!

My worst moment was taking a very early morning flight and realizing at the airport that I had completely forgotten to put a bra on at all. I had to buy one at the airport and it was a horrible fit (it was an extremely long flight or I wouldn’t have worried about it). Aack. Thanks for the chance! alicedemskehansen at gmail.com

Hmmm… gosh… I think my most embarrassing moment dealing with a bra is the fact that I don’t need one, unless I’m pregnant or nursing and boy do I love that feeling. But seriously, with each baby I just get smaller and smaller which I would have thought was impossible.

Probably when I put on a nursing bra when I dressed in the dark, and my son was already 5. It felt weird all day!

I actually forgot about this until now, but my most horrifying memory was when I was in high school (several years before my breast augmentation) and decided to try “chicken cutlets” to try and fill my B cup bra (I was more like an A I think but was in severe denial and was also GROSSLY overweight (again – several years before I lost all my weight). Anyway, I went into the bathroom and when I was washing my hands I looked in the mirror and noticed a lump in my belly area. I stared at it, trying to figure out what it was, when I pulled up my shirt and realized one of the “cutlets” had fallen out and had been making a slow escape down my stomach without me realizing. I was horrified because I had no idea how long that lump had been there and was thanking my lucky stars that I caught it before it fully flopped on the floor. Anyway, that was the first and last time I wore chicken cutlets (although now I don’t need them….).

I guess all my moments are embarrassing ones according to my daughter because I have not worn a bra since the 60’s. I just haven’t been able to find one that fits comfortably without feeling like I can’t breath. I really have had to watch what I wear so it isn’t see through.

My most embarrassing moment was when I was wearing a too tight bra and the clasp eventually gave out and it popped open while I was out, forcing me to stop at the nearest store to buy a new one to wear for the rest of the night!

Mine was the time we all went to Cedar Point and I was wearing a tee and jeans. We decided to go on the water ride and I was soaked. My tee was completely see through but the worst thing was I didn’t notice that my bra strap was broken so there I was walking around a family amusement park flashing all the young ones. Thank goodness my daughter noticed after a few minutes but that was a really bad experience.

My most embarrassing moment; I’ve never been able to find a front clasp bra that fits me well because I’m “busty”. I had one on that was way too small, you know that boob spillage you get when you’re wearing a too small bra? Had that going on except I didn’t wear a looser shirt, I had on a tighter tee that day and all you could see was this lumpy boob spillage hanging out over the top of by bra.

I was pretty young…a teenager and the bra I had on was a hand-me-down from one of my Sisters….it was pretty worn out….I was at school and the strap broke. OMG! I was horrified. I had no safety pins to fix it, I was afraid to tell anyone. I help my books in front of me the rest of the day. It was terrible. Thanks for the chance to win.

My OOPS moment was in 10th grade, while giving a presentation on the Salem Witch Trials. During mid speech, my bra strap snapped! I was pretty well endowed for only being 15, so it was quite noticeable with one breast looking high and perky and the other looking like a deflated balloon. Luckily no one laughed, but I got a lot of very funny looks afterward, lol.

    Thanks! I love Macy’s!
