Hana Salon – “Elite” Styling

I’m sure I’ve mentioned my hair in the past.  It is thick, black, course and has a mind of it’s own.  If I want to create a style that lasts throughout the day, it requires professional products and tools. Which means when it comes to achieving straight hair, I can’t just use the $15 flat irons that you can buy at Wal-Mart.  So at the recommendation of my stylist, I dropped some serious cash on a salon model that even though looked awful from the product build up after only a few months still did the job.  This iron recently reached it’s 1 year birthday and if you have the same brand, then you know that is when it’s warranty expires.  Since Murphy’s law is the only one that I live by,  it’s death was soon thereafter it’s anniversary. Go figure.

That’s when I was glad to hear about Hana Salon’s new Hana Elite.  Being the world’s only affordable 100% ceramic flat iron, the Hana Elite definitely lives up to it’s name…Elite!

THE GOAL:

“Hana’s goal: serious professional styling without meaningless marketing hype. As the makers of the world’s first and only 1 1/2″ pure ceramic plate iron, they deliver. The Hana flat iron is technologically sublime – the largest and best ceramic ionic heaters (up to 3x standard size), high to pure content ceramic & tourmaline plates, damp to dry versatility & no-compromise manufacturing in Korea. Luxury salon irons at a fraction of the price of similar irons mean high-end styling for everyone! (Plus an impressive 2 Year Warranty.)”- Misikko.com

THE EXPERIENCE:

When I opened the unique Hana Salon tin box and found not only the flat iron, but a carrying case AND a hot iron trivet, I knew I was in for a professional experience.  I turned on the easily accessible switch and turned the heat all the way up.  It got super hot super fast.   I had just washed and quickly dried my hair and used the Hana ShineShieldas a leave in conditioner and protectant.  It was very lightweight and not at all greasy.  As I placed the iron on the first strip of hair, I was amazed that I only had to run it through once!  Totally unheard of for me!  After completely straightening my hair in less than 10 minutes, I was left with super shiny, super straight and super FANTASTIC hair!

THE FEATURES:

1. 100% Ceramic – Not Coated: 99% of ceramic flat irons have coated aluminum plates. Hana’s are smoother, more durable, & superior at heat distribution & retention. They’ll never peel or get scratched.

2. Larger Integrated Heaters: A ceramic flat iron is only as good as its ceramic heater – any pro will tell you that. Hana’s integrated ceramic heaters cover the entire plate, more than twice the size of the competitors’.

3.  Yes, Black Ceramic Plates! Black ceramic never discolors, whatever hair product you use or how often you iron. The other pure ceramic iron has white plates that grow dingy with use.

THE PRICE:

Even though the Hana Elite is priced a little higher at $260.00 – $290.00 than my first professional flat iron ($190.00), but when I consider the fact that it works so much better and that I won’t have to replace this one as quickly, it totally pays for itself.  If this sounds a bit much for you, don’t worry! Hana Salon’s flat iron collection begins around $75.00, so there is definitely something for everyone.  You can purchase Hana Salon products at Misikko, an exclusive site to find the best names in hair care.

Thanks to Lisa from It’s A Glam Thing & Hana Salonfor this unique and professional at-home experience.  I am a now a Hana Salon customer for life! (or at least the life of my hair…lol)
