Know an Extraordinary Teacher?

Expo, the makers of dry-erase office and school supplies, has launched a new contest to honor extraordinary educators. Now you can nominate a teacher that you feel has done an outstanding job and enter them for a chance to win $500 and a year supply of school supplies, or a grand prize of $5000, a year supply of school supplies and a trip to NY or LA to an NBC late night show. The cutoff date to nominate a teacher is this Tuesday, September 15th, so if you’d like to enter someone be sure to get their permission tomorrow and  put your nomination in ASAP.

Expo will choose ten teachers to receive the school supplies which includes, markers, pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters and more.

If you would like to donate money to a classroom in need, please visit www.donorschoose.org – At Donors Choose, public school teachers across America can request help in funding a specific project or a much needed classroom necessity.  You can search the site based on location, academic subject, urgency, cost, or  the level of poverty in a particular school. By funding a project either fully or partially, you will be making a direct impact in the lives of teachers and students that are yearning to learn more and probably won’t have the chance otherwise. Donors Choose will then deliver the supplies you funded directly to the teacher. In return, you will receive photos of the completed project, a thank-you letter from the teacher, and a cost-report. Do Something 101 – Staples and DoSomething.org have come together to make donating to a local school in need easier than ever with their national school supply drive. Simply visit your local Staples store, drop off your school supplies and Do Something 101 will deliver them to a school in your community. Some of the most common supplies needed are pens, binders, book covers, index cards and more.
