My Girl

DSC06495-1The moment I held my baby girl in my arms for the very first time, I just knew we were going to be the best of friends. Throughout this past year, we’ve been inseparable and I like it that way! Whether I’ve rocked her to sleep on countless nights or held her close in a sling…we’ve always been very close.

For exactly 1 year, 2 months and 30 days, I’ve had the cutest little shopping partner a mom could ask for. I’ve dressed her up on several occasions with ruffles, bows, and cute pink shoes! Now, who doesn’t love a cute pair of baby shoes, am I right? I’ve even taken her to a few of my mani/pedi appointments and introduced her to her very own future chair at the hair salon where I know we’ll get our hair done together some day. We will shop for school supplies each and every year together, pick out goodies at the grocery store and shop for formal dresses for various occasions. There are so many things I look forward to with my little girl and I am just loving every little phase of her life. She is an absolute girly-girl to her core and loves to be dressed up and catch everyone’s attention. Just look at those chubby little legs and cute little baby feet, just look at them!

As each phase passes, I get a little sad, but then quickly realize how blessed I truly am to have spent that time with my daughter. Time goes way too fast, but I’m enjoying every moment!

If I’m certain about anything, it’s that she is, and always will be my precious little girl.

Girls are a lot of fun. Both of my girls love to go shopping with me. I’m like you I love dressing them up too, although I can’t dress up my 12 year old anymore.

As a mother to two boys I often times wonder what it would be like to do all the girly things I used to do with my mom. I also count my blessings because mothering two boys has taught me a lot, like the messier the better, crashing cars is much more fun that just pushing them, and with a little creativity dressing them is fun too!

I have a little boy, so I can’t relate on the cute, little shopping partner. BUT, I share that sadness as the phases pass. It is bittersweet as they keep evolving into their own little person.
