The Ugly Truth Movie…Dare I say…”It’s Ugly!”

I knew it, I just knew it! The title of this movie was almost too good to be true, as I sat down to watch what else, but The Ugly Truth, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. And, dare I even say that it was “ugly,” because it totally was. The jokes were horrible, the vibrator scene was horrendous and well, correct me if I’m wrong here, but haven’t we seen this plot like a million times before?
It went a little something like this…Gerard Butler tries to coach Katherine Heigl on how to snag a boyfriend since she obviously with her good looks (wink) can’t seem to get one on her own. He teaches her what men like and don’t like about women and wait for it….ends up falling for her in the end, Big Surprise there, right?
Umm…Where have I seen this particular storyline before? Oh Yes, that’s right, Remember… He’s Just Not That Into You?” Well I do, and I definitely wasn’t into that snooze fest of a movie either. We get it already! Opposites attract and all of that, but I’m craving a romantic comedy that’s a little different these days and lately, all I’m getting to watch is garbage. Don’t get me wrong, I like Katherine Heigl most days and Gerard Butler is super easy on the eyes, but outside of that…well…I’m left feeling duped!
Attention Hollywood: Give us something new, something exciting, possibly something we haven’t seen before, I’m begging you!
In all honesty, I know that in order to properly judge a movie, you need to watch it for yourself, right? And, please feel free to do so, but don’t say that I didn’t warn you. Happy Viewing!

awww, man! i was so hoping that this was going to be good! *sigh*
thank you, i couldn’t agree more. i went with two of my girlfriends and didn’t think a thing about it because i really like katherine heigl, but boy were we in for a surprise! i don’t think we lasted more than 30-45 minutes before we had to get up and leave because it was so raunchy. it felt like the movie was aimed more toward high school boys than grown women!
I saw this movie and nearly walked out. I have a review of it on my blog back in August and wonder why I stayed. What a waste of money. I agree with you about both of the actors in other movies, but this was ridiculous. I can honestly say that most of the people seemed uncomfortable throughout most of the movie. Save your $$ is all I have to say! That or get it from the library which should be free.
