Josie Maran: Luxury Cosmetics with a Conscience

As a Supermodel and Spokesperson, Josie Maran(the face behind the brand) is one who recognizes the transformative abilities of makeup and the simple truth that a little can go a long way.  She is aware of which ingredients are good for the environment as well as which ingredients to avoid all together summing up what her collection is really all about…Pure, Natural Cosmetics to fit one’s natural lifestyle.

With this luxurious line of cosmetics, Josie Maran focuses on eco-friendly ingredients as well as the “green” packaging of each product while maintaining a luxurious look and feel. All formulas are created with natural, organic and nontoxic ingredients such as avocado, coconut, flax, jojoba, olive, soybean, beeswax, cocoa and shea butters. As someone who appreciates the “glamorous” things in life, yet strives to live a more “green” lifestyle, I was incredibly curious to see what Josie Maran cosmetics had to offer. So you can only imagine my excitement, when I received the Cream Blush in Sun Kissed and the Eyeshadow in Valentine to test out for myself.
 
Josie Maran Cream Blush: 
 
My experience with the Josie Maran Cream Blush was a good one. I don’t like the feeling of “heavy” makeup and this product was weightless when applied and gave me just enough color during these winter months, so that I don’t appear too washed out. I was surprised at how easy this blush was to blend, giving the appearance of an absolutely flawless application, since I’m used to powders that can be a bit messy and not as accurate. The cream blush contains Josie Maran’s signature ingredient 100% pure Argan oil, which replenishes and repairs skin cells and contains no fragrances or parabens-(Good to Know!)  What’s even better, is that the packaging is gorgeous, boasting a feminine rose colored metallic compact, you would never even know that it’s made from biodegradable corn plastic and that the outer boxes are made from 30% recycled stock and soy ink. Josie Maran Eyeshadow:
 
As for the Eyeshadow, this product far exceeded my expectations as well. The color was absolutely gorgeous, but the application was what really stood out. The eyeshadow just seemed to glide on effortlessly, was long-lasting and crease resistant. This product also seemed to be weightless and didn’t feel heavy or thick when applied like most popular shadows on the market. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this non-toxic eyeshadow and since a little goes such a long way with this makeup, I’d have to say that it’s definitely worth the money!
