Congratulations to NYCSingleMom, comment #443
No, the title of this post isn’t a really cheesy lead-in to some post about how good I am at attracting all the “bad boys” in life. It’s actually a cheesy lead-in for a huge surprise following our BlogHer Giveaway that ended earlier this month.
I had mentioned in the post that choosing a winner for the I Love BlogHer in NY prize pack really put a toll on me emotionally. I wished that everyone who entered could have won and although I was stoked about who the winner was, I was bummed that the excitement had come to an end. I also promised that we’d have a really nice surprise for everyone who didn’t win, a second chance to get piss in your pants excited about your trip to NY this summer. Well, I always stick to my promises.
The “confirm order” button was just hit and this pretty lil’ thang is on it’s way to my house, which will be followed by a trip to the post office where it will find it’s way to it’s permanent home with one of you guys.
Isn’t she a beaut? Here’s a formal introduction…

We want to make sure that your trip to NY this summer is memorable and fashionable, which now it will be. The only thing we ask is that if you do win this Flip and you do see us in NY this August, promise you won’t take any blackmail video of the Pink & Sloshed girls to blog about. Ok?
HOW TO WIN
This one is easy….simply tell us what NYC landmark or event you’re most excited to see. Even if you have no intentions of coming to BlogHer this summer, we still want to know. Maybe it’s a Broadway play, shopping on 5th Avenue or a super fancy restaurant you heard about and have been dying to try.

P&P Blogoversary: I Love BlogHer in NY – GIVEAWAY

Contest Closed – Awwwwwwwwww
Winner will be announced very shortly, Good Luck!!
Today marks the day of two very important things in Pink & Posh history: our one year blogoversary and the biggest, baddest, blogherest giveaway ever.
First of all I want to thank Jeri for bringing me on as a P&P editor, I have been having a blast meeting new women, being introduced to some great new brands, learning how to be the diva I always wanted to be and most importantly, finding a true friend in Jeri. She really is the kindest, most patient, unbelievably generous woman I’ve ever met. I can’t help but smile every time she says “bless her heart”, it’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard and I know she means it each and every time. It took about two or three phone conversations, but I’m finally able to decipher that heavy southern accent of hers, it’s the cutest thing y’all. Okay, that’s enough mushiness out of me, let’s get to the fun part, the part that is going to make jump for joy and praise the day you stumbled upon Pink & Posh.
You might have heard of this small blogging conference that is held every year called BlogHer. If you haven’t, there is really no need for you to continue reading. Well, none of us Pink & Posh girls have ever had the chance to attend the conference but vowed to be there in 2010 when they bring the crew of nearly 2000 women right here to NYC! Since it is certainly THE blogging event of the year, what better way to celebrate a blogoversary, OUR event of the year. Being a native NY’er, you can imagine how happy I was to hear that BlogHer is working it’s way East, and what better way to celebrate? Shop! The day after I heard the good news I jumped in my car and headed to Canal Street to pick up some of the most common NYC souvenirs, but it didn’t stop there. I said to myself, “Self, our readers deserve more than a keychain and a postcard, they deserve the best of NYC, the best!” As much as I wish I could tie the Statue of Liberty on to my roof rack and ship it off to one of you, I couldn’t. But we did better. Way better. Here’s what one of you lucky BlogHer gals will be going home with after the conference…

One grand prize winner will receive:

Top 10 Reasons I’m Excited to Stay Home This Weekend
July 23, 2009 by Nicole Ibarrondo
Filed under Blog Talk, Pink & Private

Ok..so truth be told, I am seriously hurting over here while watching all my bloggy friends tweet and blog live from Chicago while attending BlogHer. I can’t imagine why I didn’t get tickets sooner, I guess I was just wrapped up in other things, but I can’t change that now, right? Unless of course I decide to run off to Chicago and crash the party! Yeah, that’s not going to happen. My rebel days are long gone.
To lighten the load of depression for all of us not attending BlogHer, one of my favorite girls Lisa, from Mom of 2 Boys, Wife of 1, decided to put together a Non BlogHer Party with her friend Stefanie. They have some great sponsors lined up so us hermits can have little reenactment parties at home with real SWAG and all.
Today Lisa announced a very special addition to the sponsor list! Cozi, a free online organizational tool designed for busy families (like the ones too busy to go to BlogHer), has offered to “sponsor” 15 non-BlogHer moms by giving them $100 each, this way we can splurge on the really expensive wine and anti-depressants while sulking at home during the Non BlogHer Party. I’m all over this one.
So here is my list of the Top 10 Reasons I am Excited to Stay Home with My Family This Weekend (instead of being at BlogHer)
-
Instead of stressing over which cocktail dress makes my fat ass look less fat, I get to lounge around in my Tinkerbell night shirt all weekend.
-
While I could have been in Chicago worrying about how messy my kitchen was getting, I now get to witness it first hand and can do dishes all weekend long with a smile. Oh Joy!
-
Since I am going to the Type-A Mom Conference in September, I have an extra two months to lose 96 lbs. Who’s jealous now bitches?
-
I can get wasted in my own house this weekend while attending the Non BlogHer Party and not have to worry about putting on my sunglasses in the morning. My husband is used to my dark circles and blemished skin, something I’d rather not see posted on the Pioneer Woman’s blog next week. Thankyaverymuch!
-
I don’t have to explain to 500 people why I decided to leave Mom Fuse, how I could ever pass up the chance to receive massive amounts of iRobot products and how I’m dealing with not having 4,536 Twitter friends anymore.
-
When I want to smoke a cigarette this weekend, I can. I don’t have to hide behind a bush in front of the Sheraton and race to wash my hands and rinse with mouthwash in case I run into someone who will feel the need to remind me that smoking is bad, as if I didn’t know.
-
I don’t have to pay $12.99 for soft-porn on a fuzzy hotel TV screen.
-
My daughter will wake up at a normal time, unlike the funky 5am schedule she gets on when we are on vacation.
-
My desktop doesn’t make me search for WiFi and never leaves me hanging mid-blog post.
-
I can sit here and cry by myself because of the fact that I am not at BlogHer rather than crying to complete strangers because I miss my daughter while at BlogHer.
Bonus reason that I am excited to stay home with my family this weekend – No one can give me the “you’re such a trashy mom” look tomorrow morning after reading my Top 10 Reasons I am Excited to Stay Home with My Family This Weekend.
So what do you think? Are my reasons valid? Let me know either way, I can take it! The post with the most comments will win $100 from Cozi, and I sure can use that money! How else am I going to buy wine, antidepressants, cigarettes, and my own domain name since I’m sure Jeri will give me the boot once she reads this =)
